Franchisefox (“Franchisefox”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a DBA of Tooldesk Inc., a Delaware corporation. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you access franchisefox.ai, app.franchisefox.ai, api franchises, or any related products, sales, or marketing activities (collectively, the “Services”).

We built Franchisefox for business users evaluating and marketing to franchise systems. Your use of the Services signifies that you have read, understood, and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

  • Account Data: Name, email address, password hash, company name, billing contact, phone number, and role.
  • Billing Data: Payment tokens, transaction history, tax IDs, and subscription selections processed via our payment providers.
  • Support Data: Emails, tickets, call recordings, and other communications with our support or sales teams.

1.2 Information we collect automatically

  • Usage & device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referral URL, cookie identifiers, pages viewed, API request metadata, and timestamps.
  • Log files: Diagnostic logs capturing errors, product interactions, and security events.

1.3 Third-party & public sources

  • Public franchise data: Information sourced from Franchise Disclosure Documents (FDDs), state and federal registries, corporate websites, press releases, and other publicly available materials.
  • Partners & vendors: Append services providing deliverability signals, enrichment attributes, or compliance indicators.

2. How We Use Information

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Services; provide account access and customer support.
  • Process transactions, invoices, collections, and account management.
  • Deliver curated franchise datasets, analytics, and alerts to authorized users.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent security incidents, fraud, and abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations, regulatory inquiries, and contractual commitments.
  • Conduct research, product development, and internal analytics to improve feature quality.
  • Send operational, marketing, and promotional communications (opt-out available at any time).

We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. Franchisefox provides curated datasets for legitimate business outreach; customers are contractually obligated to honor opt-outs and legal requirements.

We use cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies to authenticate users, remember preferences, understand usage, and measure marketing effectiveness. You can manage cookies via browser settings, but disabling them may affect functionality.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and activity data for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Suppression records are stored to honor future opt-out requests. Backup copies of certain records may persist for a limited period consistent with disaster-recovery policies.

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards including access controls, encryption in transit and at rest, audit logging, network segmentation, and regular testing. No system is completely secure—use unique passwords, enable MFA, and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required. Franchisefox does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16.

10. International Transfers

Tooldesk Inc. operates primarily in the United States. By using the Services, you acknowledge that data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We rely on contractual protections, Standard Contractual Clauses, or other appropriate safeguards for data transferred from the EEA/UK/Switzerland.

11. Opt-Out of Franchisefox Datasets

Franchise owners, operators, and employees may request suppression of their contact details by completing the Opt-Out form or emailing [email protected]. We validate identity, remove records from active datasets, and propagate suppression flags to downstream processes.

12. Children’s Privacy

The Services target business professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we inadvertently collected such data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect operational, legal, or regulatory changes. The “Last updated” date will change accordingly. Significant updates will be communicated via email or in-product notices where appropriate.
